Shreshtha Heritage Foundation is committed to creating an informed awareness of our rich cultural heritage specifically the performing arts so that it becomes relevant to the community and empowers them for holistic personality development.
Performing Arts is an important tool of expression dating to a hoary past. In the journey of Missing Milestones and Changing Landscapes and perceptions of the modern era, our heritage that has taken a backseat is now being brought to the forefront through youngsters seriously taking up Performing Arts as a career.
With the introduction of the liberal arts in colleges and universities, there is a renewed interest in the humanities subjects. In a happening City like Bengaluru, the opportunities for knowledge transmission are plenty.
We hope to bridge the gap through performances, and workshops and provide a national platform for budding and deserving artists. As a future plan, we will also be documenting for archival records the rich Tribal and Folk heritage that is slowly disappearing.
A banker by profession, with a PhD in folklore, she is an expert on heritage matters. She was a central advisory board member for child labour. With many seminar papers to her credit at national and international forums she was the chief editor for a recently released commemorative volume on art history.
A folk and Rabindra Sangeet singer, All India Radio, Doordarshan Kendra and Yuvavani Agartala artist, founder and lead vocalist of the folk band Achin Pakhi. She completed her masters in music from Visva Bharati University, Shantiketan and was awarded National Scholarship in music, 2014. Also, she attained National scholarship from the Ministry of Culture under UGC.
Disciple of Guru Smt. Sreedevi Unni and Dr. Neena Prasad, is a Mohiniyattam artist who has given several performances and conducted workshops all over the country and abroad in Mohiniyattam till date. Presently she is working in Delhi Public School, Bangalore East as a dance teacher.
A self-taught pianist and keyboardist has honed his craft through a passion for music with an unquenchable thirst for learning. He has performed at various concerts, collaborating with a diverse range of artists along the way. He continues to showcase his skills as a member of the renowned folk band, "Achin Pakhi".
At Shreshtha Heritage Foundation, we believe that our social responsibility extends beyond just organizing cultural events. Our commitment to giving back to society is evident through our various initiatives that aim to make a positive impact on the lives of the less privileged. From supporting orphanages to reaching out to old age homes, we continuously strive to serve the cause of humanity and bring cheer to those in need.
